How do you remove the steering wheel horn pad, it has cruise on it. I need to get some oil on the top bearing. I have looked for screws under it but find none. It is an F-350 so no air bags.
place your fingers between the wheel and the column on top pull gently and it will slide to you and then you can unplug the wires you will have to remove the wheel all together to grease the bearings it is a sealed top
what would the air bag have to do with anything? just unscrew it pull the cover off unscrew the nut get a steering wheel puller and yank that bag chicken off there lol
he was talking about the horn pad on a truck equipped with the drivers side airbag the airbag comes out by the 4 bolts on the back of the steering wheel if it isnt one equipped with an airbag the horn pad just snaps off meaning all you have to do is pull on it and it will come off then you can get to the steering wheel mounting bolts
u can put a grant wheel on it and if u have cruise on there too u can get the cruise button kit but its $115 and u still have to buy the adapter and wheel.
No cruise control, a little off topic, but do you guys think I could swap the steering column out of my 1991 crown vic into the truck, the vic has tilt steering, and the steering wheels look exactly the same....Jus a thought, be nice to have...
Nope, its a wonder my truck had radio...lol LikeI said, as far as looks go, the steering wheel and column are identical...also good thing they have the same placement for the wiper, and transmission controls...
