I was looking at this 1979 F-250 that was for sale, I'm going to get it checked out (mechanically), it runs good but I noticed when I was behind it one side of the box looked higher than the other one, could this be a bent frame or mabey a suspension problem??
it counld be the frame, or possibly body mounts/bushings, if it is just the bed I wouldn't think it was the frame. I would guess body mounts with out seeing it though
After I pulled the bed off my '77 F250 Camper special I measured all the frame for height and found the driver side 1" lower. I just replaced the leaf spring on that side last month so I would suspect that you might have a broke spring plate or something else related to the suspension. It really takes a lot to bend a frame unless it was crashed at one time. When I installed my wood box I just shimmed up the new framework with steel plate to even it out. If you have followed any older/working pickups you can see this is a common problem. My spring was broken when a payloader dropped a bucket of black dirt in my bed from about 5' up and that didn't bend the frame. Check the distance from the top of your leafspring to the bottom of the frame and that should give you an indication where the problem is. Lots of luck.
