The last month or so I have noticed that I am going through fuel like crazy. Havent done anything to the motor at all. I will go through a tank of fuel in a little over a week. And im not sure if something is wrong with my gauge or what but it seems like every time I start it I have an eighth of a tank less. Doesnt matter how far I go. I can drive a mile down the road and back and shut it off and start it an hour later and almost exactly and eighth of a tank less it seems like. Am I going crazy or is there a way to explain this?
I dont suppose the gauge comes back up does it? Mine gauge goes down about 1/8 of a tank when i shut the truck down, but it comes back up to where it should be when I turn the key on. It comes up slowly, but it does come back up.
Filled it with about 16 gallons. And to school and back which is about nine miles a day. And went some other places . Probably about another 65 or somewhere around there. So that plus at least nine to eighteen a day depending on how many trips I take to school. And I have been running on that tank since last sunday. So 8 days. Are my injectors leaking or something?
Your averaging around 11.5 mpg. Mine only gets 11 if im lucky. And u even have a c6 tranny. Maybe have run it a little harder then normal. Or idleing bc of it being cold.
Very true. And yes it idles for longish amounts of time in the morning due to the cold. But how can I improve my fuel economy. I have a K&N filter and the truck only has 112000 miles. Besides driving slower is there anything i can do to improve economy?
Ive already got 3.55s. Its getting close to injector time. Is it possible I have one leaking or anything? Just want to make sure. Because i cant see my fuel mileage going down that much due to 10 minutes extra idling in the morning.
Two gallons a day in the wintertime including warmup time. You want to trade gas bills.lol
The next time you fill up write down the milage and then the next record the miles and gallons, I suspect you may be suprised how many miles you have travelled and your mileage.
Mine probably evaporates 2 gallons a day.lol
Lol well when your 16 and dont exactly make a ton of money fuel can seem pretty expensive. Especially when you have a tendency to spend it on things like shiny chrome things and engine parts haha
It doesn't help to be 50 and buy 400 gallons at a time sometimes every 2 days. lol
Another thing to consider is where your located if you are in a cold climate you lose some mileage do to the winter fuel.
yea, i havent had a full tank of fuel since i lost my job a couple months ago. Now its a rare occasion when the gauge goes over 1/4 of a tank. Good thing i dont have one of those broken off pickup tubes lol
