Trying to figure out why my 93 Ford f350 w/ 460 wont idle properly so I pulled the codes. One code stuck out, code 53 "throttle position circuit above maximum voltage".
What exactly does this mean and could this be my problem? I have replaced the TPS sensor along with the TFI module, idle control module, had the EGR checked, had all my vacuum lines smoke checked. Nothing has helped.
Did you reset the computer after replacing those parts? If not, unhook the battery for at least 15 minutes- it may not solve the problem but it's something you should do after replacing any sensor.
Is the TPS on your truck adjustable? If so, you may not have installed it correctly.
