Thats a good 1 to look at Greg. Some like the 1.15 and some dont. I pull some heavy stuff and it has helped my EGT's and I spool just fine. And with out the load it is awesome But your truck is built a lot more than my truck, but we have the same tuner.
Guys, not to interupt but how can you tell performance wise that you have to much backpressure?? I have the 1.0 exhaust housing with the 4inch duals and everything seems fine but is there a test?? Turbo spool-up??

Reason: Turbo spool-up
Exhaust pressure is good to get rid of unless you are sitting in a meeting. If you're are not having problems I would not worry about it. I doubt you are experiencing turbo surge.
Hey T8R I got a EBPV delete pedestal if you can use it- I'll need it, but we can swap or whatever. Lemme know 949- six one 6 zero 2 ten. I'm in Rancho Santa Margarita

Thanks for the offer, I really appreciate that. The other pedestal should be here some time tomorrow, hopefully fairly early in the day. If back pressure seems to be an issue, I'll look into changing it out later. (Budget is tight, so I'll be happy to have it together and running again.)

I have a scan gauge from Terminator Eng. It provides EBP for you.
I haven't really seen before, but what is acceptable and what is too much for EBP? Give me something more to watch for while towing heavy.
Good question, and one I'm a little curious about now as well.
My pedestal arrived today, btw. Now it feels like Christmas. :-) I may actually get to spend Christmas day elbows deep in my 7.3. I only have a few folks coming over for dinner and I can crank out a pretty mean chicken alfredo in under an hour. (Yeah, I could have done something more elaborate... but more time to finish the truck.)
Finally back home to work on the truck - had to spend a couple weeks out of town to catch up with family and some old friends on the east coast. Had a great time, but excited to finally be back to finish the truck. I literally worked on the truck until the last minute before heading out. I ended up using Glad Press-N-Seal to cover up the openings on the turbo and any other open ports I could find - and it's been sitting until I made it back in town to finish what I started. (I was in the middle of pushing the truck into a parking spot when my ride to the airport arrived and made a couple good natured jokes at my expense.)
I'll be back to posting pics of progress again this evening. Current status: Injectors swapped, everything torqued down and sealed up, plenums swapped out, pedestal installed, up pipes and turbo are back in and tightened down.
Does anyone know what the torque specs are for the V-Band Clamps? I'd like to get them as snug as I can without stripping the brass nuts.
Still working on: MBRP, DP tuner, CCV, Spider, sensors, IC pipes and 6637 and eventually get the pass. side fender plastic back in.
5-6 Ft-lbs should do it. Specs on the turbo inlet Y connection is 62 in-lbs. The other ones will be about the same. I usually just tighten by hand, but last time I torqued them.
New one - just realized that the V-band clamp that holds the spider to the turbo is much bigger for a 99.5+... I can have one from ford by tues, but might try the little one for now.
Anyone know if any of the chain auto parts stores that would be open at 3 pm on a Sat would be likely to carry something like that?
Thanks Steve, I appreciate the quick response. Gave them a call and the earliest they could have it in is Tues, so checked with the dealership near the house who can also have it in Tues.
Best I can think of for the time being (just want to get it running for tonight) is to use a spare hose clamp to extend the early 99 clamp, even if it means a quick trip to Home Depot. The old clamp is so much smaller that it'll only grab on 3 sides, but hoping it'll be enough to at least idle the truck.
(Since I live in a condo with a tiny garage, I'm trying not to leave the back of the truck hanging out over night.)
Other than a vicious boost leak, can anyone thing of a reason that this would be a bad plan?
