About a year ago I bought my truck and I've been trying to find out what axles,tranny,transfer case I have. The local Ford dealer said Ford doesn't keep records back that far and all the tags are gone.
In a year or so I want to put in a 5-speed overdrive tranny and I need some info on that too!

Can't help you here, I don't have any idea where to send you try and locate the info you're after. You might try to find out from the previous owner what mods might have been made to it. Other wise I would go with the presumption that it is stock until you find parts that don't fit, and go from there. It's the long way around but if you do find "stock" parts that don't fit, once you find the parts that do fit have them cross referenced to find out the application that they go to. My 2c worth
