I need help asap. my 01 escapes vaccum can started to leak so I put on a new one and now my pedal goes down half way to the floor before the brakes start to take old , is there some kind of adjust on the pedal rod that I missed ? please help my son is afraid to drive it. thanks
when I changed the vacuum can I did not need to take any lines off but I did bleed the lines anyway and there was no are in them. I did not think about the rear adjustment because the brake pedal was high before I changed the can but I will check them. I can't help but think I missed some kind of adjustment on the push rod or some where along the way of replacing the can. I am sorry for taking so long to reply back but the holiday and cold weather with no garage to work in makes it hard for me to do anything. I'm in northeast PA. ( high teens low 20s temp. ) thanks for the help and MERRY CHRISTMAS HAPPY NEW YEAR
if you replaced the brake booster the rod that pushes into the master cylinder should be adjusted that the master cyl. should slid on the booster with no pre load on the m/c.
if I remember right the rod on my pedal did not have any type of screw adjusting threads on it. that is why I am lost on thinking that I over looked something when I put the new can on. is there some other adjustment ? thanks
