Question DRW TIRE ROTATION

Since most people with DRW with polished chrome wheels do not do full tire rotations due to financial expense of tire & wheel break downs, is it true that DRW drivers can gain some benefits by rotating tires from left to right only??? Let me know.

Thanks for your input

I find getting the tires off the rear axle to be a major pain in the a$$. Besides, as long as they are wearing evenly, they can stay in place as long they want!

I will be honest I have not checked the manual, however I did even better than that I had a conversation with a FORD technician at my FORD dealership. They basically looked at me like I was stupid and like they never heard of anybody rotating tires on this model truck from left to right. Now you are probably thinking ,well there is your answer, but small and large commercial tire dealers have told me just the opposite, that tires in that case can benefit from left to right rotation due driving patterns and natural & unnatural uneven weight distribution. Now I am getting a strange feeling that you are going to still say !!!!!!! So I guess I better find it.(I only keep the repair manual on-board)

Thanks TEXAS REBEL

MY guess would be Mr. RTFM doesn't know so the emoticon was his answer. I'd guess Ford recommends side to side mainly because one of the options on the F450's is a "extreme" off road tire that they only put on the back and put less aggressive tires on the front. Since they don't install them all the way around they must only figure on rotating the backs side to side if at all. I don't see how it would hurt anything.

actually I know it is in the manual, because that's the first thing I do with a new vehicle... read it.

DRW rotation should be side to side only unless you want to re balance each of the wheels.

It is easier to balance the pairs as a pair since you can use less weight.

Even if you zero balance all 6 tires, the pairs will wear together. Splitting the pairs will match tires that are unevenly worn, and while this isn't really a serious situation, it will increase wear on some tires.
