Brighter taillights?
I am restoring/modifying a 68 F-100. I have seen the new city buses out with taillights that appear to be LED bright. Very visibile and very distinct.
Has anyone heard about a modification of that light to fit passenger rigs, especially a 68 Taillight?
Just need to hear if there is a YES to this!

I've never heard of that specific mod. I have read articles on using relays at the lights to give more power at the lights and prevent line loss at the lights. Another trick I've seen used is painting the inside of the housings silver to create better reflectivity.

If you are interested in brighter headlights check out Steve Delantys' Tech Article on that subject on this site. I did the modification on my '71 and now my headlights are as bright as all the modern vehicles.

Those LED's are a Commercial product. I sent Email's to two different places that sell LED's, to see if we can make our own.
Here's a couple of Electronic magazine's Address. From them you can get to the suppliers. Keep us posted if you make some. I'm too busy fishing to bother with the truck right now.

The trick of painting the bulb housing bucket silver works wonders. Especially on old equipment that the innards have started to rust.
