I like the script Ford on the tail lights, but I don't like it next to the block letters on the 53-56 tailgate. I like blue dots a lot. I have the block Ford letters with a blue dot (but that wasn't part of the poll).
There have been some very nice custom tail lights done by some on here as well, but I am partial to the Ford shield style on my truck. They are just distinctive to our effies.
i believe the 53 and 54..not sure about the 55...tail-lights were different..the ones I took off my truck originally were round and nothing like the "shield style" I got from Mid-fifty..with blue dots and Ford Script
However...I had to put them together..like drill the holes for the script and blue dots. they sent a little letter with it saying they were no longer allowed to sell/ship them complete/assembled. Has anyone else heard anything like this?
personally I am not at all fond of the OEM taillights, IMHO they look like something you'd put on a trailer. In a bolted on taillight I'd prefer a round "bullet style" housing with a short stem, like a scaled down version of a 30's headlight. I also like the stealthy narrow LED strip lights that go just under the tailgate that have the "running" turn indicators and center brake area. On of the best looking setups I have seen used the rear bumper from a mid 80's el Camino or Malibu SW that has the sorta 1/2 moon taillights built in on each side and the recessed license plate mount in the center. Tucked in tight and painted body color it looked like it originally came there. There was a deluxe version that had a rubber rub strip just above the tallights as well as a plain one.

Ax that is what I have, and depending on my schedule I could prob get a pic in a day or two. I am also thinking of adding the round LED lights to the round roll of the box side and wire them up to the brake, turn, and tail lights.

Axracer: Those rear bumpers went a little further than the mid 80s. Mom had a 79 malibu station wagon when I was in high school. It was a piece of junk, but it had that bumper too.
I always thought that would look good on some custom truck. LOL
I guess I just have to be different. I like the looks of the old Ford script shields on the earlier Effies but not for my '56. I like the block letters on mine.
