I am looking to replace my exhaust, I have searched for some options but it seems like everyone is looking for louder exhausts, I want to go quieter.. I have tried Cherry Bomb turbo's (lousy,, didn't last..) I have a chambered glasspack style on now that is too loud. I have installed Flowmaster 40's on customers trucks (I think they are too tinny and hollow sounding..).
I live in a tight neighborhood, and my truck is rattling windows, especially now in the winter. Plus it gets a bit droney (?). I want a good quiet muffler that performs well, I don't care if it gets louder when I get on it. I work late some nights and it would be nice to come home unnoticed.
I would like to keep a dual setup, but am not opposed to a 2 in 2 out muffler. Maybe 2 1/4- 2 1/2 in. 2 1/2-3" out(?)
I don't know what engine you have, but I went with the x-pipes and thrush hush mufflers. I was going to post a recording on a thread I put up but couldn't cause I couldn't hear anything with my recording equipment (i.e. my phone). Anyways, the x-pipe give a great even sound and the thrush hush make all but the highest rpms quiet. It's great.
