Excursion video system.

My 03 Excursion did not come equipt with a video package. I want to install one large screen and dvd player. Everything ive seen would require me to totally replace the center console or the roof mounted heating-cooling control system thing. What have you done? Is there another way? Thanks

The headrest monitors didnt take long to install. It was acually pretty easy. I was deff worried that I would cut wrong and wreack the seat!!! No *****, no glory I guess!! I was pretty easy though. The whole system didnt take to long to install. I am looking to upgrade the head unit as the one I had was just a cheapy. Works good! I did make the mistake and get monitors that didnt have there own speakers or headphone jack, so the driver has to listen to the movie also. I guess I would rather listen to the movie than a crabby kid!!

Or 3 craby kids. It looks like a 7 inch screen is all the bigger the seats will handle. Sure do like them being flush with the seats though. Thanks for the info.

We had our friends shop install this

Kenwood - DDX714

sorry it's a little blury

and it's tied into our headrest seats as well

are's did come with a ceiling mounted from the factory but we never tried to use it until we put the other ones in and were going to tie it in with the others and found out it was a dud and the factory one didn't work. Everything else works flawlessly and am very happy with it and probably in the future I'll get a new factory one to tie everything together and then maybe a 10-15" screen for the 3rd row

Also check this site out Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Stereo, Home Theater, Speakers, Plasma TV you can find a lot of model specific stuff

my mistake we actually got the newer DDX814 model but they look almost exactly alike and it just has the newer bluetooth connection and little stuff were it shows album artwork from your iPod and play movies from your ipod on the front screen and back screens so you don't even really need to have dvd's anymore and have everything downloaded on you ipod which is cool

Yep I think those flush mounted monitors are the way to go. They look great.
