Currently, my tailgate is stuck in the 'closed' position. I remember a couple months ago I went to open it and when I pulled the handle I heard a snap and now it just wont go down. Im assuming something snapped in the mechanism . Anyways, I was wondering if it is possible to remove the whole doggone thing (I would put one of those cargo nets in or something) while its stuck closed, or if anyone has any ideas of how I could fix it..
Thanks

Reason: EDIT:Sorry for the mispelled title.
There are screws on the bed side of the tailgate. Remove those and there are two rods that run from the latches to the handle in the middle with clips that hold it all together. Just pop that cover off and it should be pretty apparent what's broke. When you put it all back together, shoot some dry grease on all the fittings and joints etc.
