Wow

with the inboard pad backing sitting between the shield and rotor at the bottom. Asked her why she didn't say anything about the grinding noise and she said she didn't think it was that bad yet (I drive the F-150 daily, She drives the Excursion). I love her to death but %$#@!

That's enough to paralyze me with rage, cause an eye twitch, and calmly ask her to step away and go inside until I'm done fixing it....
I don't want to know how something like that happens, but damn!
Sorry Dude. I feel your pain.
Smooth them right out. Think of the divits as little cooling ports. Feel for you brother. Always nice to go out to the barn and find the leaf blower in pieces. Literally pieces.
Me: Were you going to say anything about it?
Her: I didn't think it was that major.
Me: Was it working when you got it out?
Her: Yes.
Me: What happened?
Her: I don't know. It just stopped working.
Got to love it.

That would be my educated guess.
To the OP, I guess you'll be driving the Excursion more often huh? lol
Oh, and I guess this just give you an excuse to put some shiney new, upgraded parts on there. She can't say anything about what you spend on it.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
So a day or so later he pulls it apart,,,,,one hole side of the rotor was GONE,,,,the Caliper had worn right through to the cooling fins inside the Rotor,,,the whiiiirrrrrring sound was the fins hits the caliper when he applied the Brakes,,,amazingly the rotor stayed together somehow!
The truck got him back though,,,the same side he had to replace the caliper mount,,etc from all the Carnage,,,when he was beating on the Hub(older style front end) with a Hammer and Block of wood,,,Hammer Glanced of something,,,and Broke his Hand,,,Narly looking mess !
