Reason: spelling
That guy needs to go back to driving and reving the snot out of his Honda. What an idiot. Even if I hatedthe truck I wouldn't do that.
And the thing is, the darn guy will be pissed when the thing blows up and then call it a piece of crap.
I have never reved my truck over 1600 unloaded. I can't imagne gettng over 3000 unloaded. Heck, I don't like to rev my truck past 3k WITH a load.
To answer your question Danny, it *is* possible, with a correctly built block and a fueling system to do it right (in other word, $$$$$). The HEUI system has an inherent limiting factor in that it's too slow to keep up with increases in speed at which the fueling events are needed at those RPMs...

Most pulling associations require that the exhuast exits straight up. He didnt do it because he's a redneck, he did it cause thats what the rules say.

7.3's can be tuned to run at or above 5000 rpm. Kevin Barr (Mech181) was bumping around between 5300 to 5600 last year when he was getting his truck dialed in for the pulling circuit. Did you notice the ladder bars under the truck? No, he wont call it a piece of crap, he's probably got more $$$ in his motor, than you do in your truck.

Ive seen the banks land speed truck reving some crazy rpm for fun; It was very impressive.
As far as him having more money into his engine then my truck cost....very doubtful with the way he was acting.
The ladder bars are not that impressive, I run them on a lot of my mud trucks, and I have a 3rd link in my 87 ford with a built 460; I find that it binds up a lot less then my fixed ladderbar setups because of spring geometry and suspension travel.
