i bought mine through four wheel online. personally i had a issue w them and a costumer service issue. but in my opinion it was just one of them fluke things, id imagine a majority of the time there is no issues, just when ordering make it clear what you have and want.
i believe you want the class two system lift kit, includes rear springs not blocks, and the heavy duty drop down bracket. also, it is recommended add-a-leafs for front springs on diesel trucks. that will run another 120 if i recall right.
idk about the shackle flip idea, but i did eventually this past summer switch to a dana 60 front.
well right now i ain't got the money for booth and since my springs are really bad sagging and all the bushing are completely worn out i figure i might as well just lift since thats what i want any way and if do a dana 60 later the only thing i believe i will need for the lift is something for the track bar
do you still need the drop bracket if you are only wanting to go with a 2" lift? all i want to do is clear the 285 r16 tires i just put on it. my truck does have 285,000 miles on it. you think that just a new sit of springs would help with that?
if your sagging as bad as I was an add a leaf will be a huge improvement. I had less than a finger width between the spring and bump stop. add a leaf added 1.5 or so and only needs minnor alignment adjustment. I also put in a 3" rear block off my 94' that had a 4" lift on it. Right now i have alot of rake but truck levels out nice when i'm towing.
If money is tight i would put an add a leaf in the front and either a 2" rear block or 1 ton block
This is mine with front add a leaf a 3" rear block. Sorry for the poor pict quality. Haven't had time to get a good pict of the truck. Just got the blocks in last night and had a load go out first thing this am
I havent posted on this site for quite a while, but I cant resist this one. Take the money you are going to **** away on a junk lift kit and pick up a dana 60.You are going to have all that 50 junk out of the way and you will be much happier in the long run while you are in there do a shackle flip on the front and rear.Been there done that.
x2 dana 50=crap lifted 50=double crap
I just picked up a d60 for 800 --1200 after changing seals ujoints and other maintainence stuff. I got a 3" RSK from sky for 300 shipped. for a couple hundred more get the superduty v-codes and you will have a much better ride than skyjacker or anyone else. I got the 4" skyjacker from 4 wheel online and now switched over. just pay the 1500 once and be done with it 2000 with new springs

is this with new springs or just put the add a leaf on the old springs. i also wanted to put an ad a leaf or air bags in the rear as i will be towing a goose neck with two toyotas on it and really dont like the sag look. thanks
i would spend $2000 for a lift with a dana 60 but can i find a dana 60 that goes stock with 3.55 gears or would i have to re gear it most dana 60 people i have seen got 4.10s
I had a bad experiance with 4 wheel online myself ordered lift for my truck took over 6 week to get my order in then on top of that it ended up costing more ($287) plus didn't have every thing the kit i ordered was suppost to have in it. when i went to install it i had superlift brackets and hardware skyjacker spings and the wrong u bolts
o yhea there customer service is nill i had to go to there local retail store and threaten great bodily harm to get any service. then had to deal with the police to get everyting corrected
i dont know why you all hate the dana 50 so much. it is a good and strong rear and ride nicer then the solid axles. if lifted properly it is superior to a solid axle any day of the week. independent axles articulate better then solid axles, there is no contest. if you buy junk kits then you get junk performance.
There are many and widely varied opinions on the dana 50.My opinion is they are junk, and even worse on a lifted truck. They eat balljoints and tires. They have been replaced by monobeam axles on new equipment.I bought my first dana 60 about 2 years ago for $700. from a local truck salvage yard they suprised me with that price, and even gave me $150.for the junk dana 50 core.My second 60 I got off of ebay for $500.I know that sounds unreal but it is a DRW front axle and scared most people off.But if you have a dana 50 you already have the parts to convert a dually axle to single the hubs interchange.Yes most 60 are 410,but you are going to have your 355 unbolted anyway so throw that $100.sterling with a 410 under there then.Shackle flips are easy and will gain you lift and better ride.Search around on here and you will find plenty of info.
and what info do you have to say that 50's are junk and eat ball joints and tires? a dana 60 that has improper alignments performed will eat ball joints and tires as well. the only thing a 60 has over a 50 is the fact that when the front leaf springs sag on a 50, it will affect the camber alignment angles where it wont on a 60.
proper alignment does not mean having the specs in the green, it means having the specs dead ***** on and also having the balljoint knuckle angles correct as well. if your front end guy is lazy and just crams a shim in that gets the numbers right but has the stud way offcenter, then yes it will eat the balljoint quickly.
i set my axles up myself and i get a nice long life out of my balljoints, and i also dont have expensive ones. i bought the el cheapo's from advance auto. i cant give you a mileage on them cause they are still tight and on the truck. i grease regularly (every 1000-1500 miles) and turn 36 inch mud tires on a 6 inch lift. i have NO abnormal tire wear, no cupping, no feathering, no issues at all. the truck gets a good hard workout of towing, offroading, city and highway miles, i drive 50 miles each way to work 6 days a week and sometimes 7.
there are several members of this forum that have seen my truck and also rode in it, they can attest that the ride is smooth and seen how it will perform on and offroad.
i dont know where you got your info that the dana 50 is junk and i dont know what else to do to change your mind, but telling members that the dana 50 front axle is garbage is not a valid statement.
Info-Life experience.I siad my OPINION are you a **** would you like to deny it to me.Lazy-you dont even know him awww your opinion.Your truck, never seen it but I bet its nice.I siad junk not garbage, garbage usually has organic material in it which might be useful some where, compost pile.Dana 50 could be recycled into say chinese rebar or something at harbor freight.
