4.10's, with a close ratio diesel T19(4.02:1 first) and the stock BW1345. The gears are one of the many reasons I have been holding off on the C6.
The majority of my trail time is spent in 2nd low, which at the rev limiter is just a hair shy of 40 mph, but it will put along at 500 rpm just the same. Going to an auto is going to be a huge learning curve for me... I have never driven one off road, and have never owned one.
Actually, that isn't the normal low first gear, the t18 is 6.32 and the np435 is 6.69. I only use first for crawling, it is mostly useless, even a 4:1 it really just makes for a bunch of rpm and no wheel speed. Everything you see in that video is in second, which is only 2.46.
With the stuff I've been breaking I am glad I waited on the 5.38's and locking the front. One twisted stub, crushed needles in both axle u-joints, blown up pass side locking hub.
I have 35 spline stubs, drive flanges and new spicer life series joints coming. Hopefully that will keep things together until I can go full chromo.
Well after some maintenance I took it out, beat it and broke it again... Lol
I must have something weird going on with the engine mounts, as I broke the t-case adapter; which had come loose a couple times since I replaced the trans mount with a new stock one.
The factory 1345 is finally showing its age and the chain was making noises all day but it didn't puke its guts out.
All in all not a bad day for a truck that has been dormant for almost 2 years.
I'm going to try a new set of stockers and a limiter strap on the drivers side. The current set of mounts is from the 97 that donated the block so there is only around 60k on them but they are still pretty old.
All else fails I'm going to probably go with Autofab's setup. Not big on solid mounts in a street rig.
At the end of the day my issue may be gears. I'm hoping its not so, budget is not there for them.
Run a solid mount on just the driver side instead of a strap.
I've ran solid engine mounts on lots of street rigs. Only notice the vibration for a little bit.
My biggest problem with solid mounts is no one seems to make them for a factory 460 rig, everything I've found so far is swap mounts.
Can't even find polys for it.
I've always made my own by modding a factory mount.... Idk off hand the 460s but all the small blocks took was a couple bolts a hammer, a wire wheel and a welder and stock became solid.
Solidifying the stockers isn't going to help, the movement is from the drivers side moving the bolts in the slots in the frame perch.
I can't say I've seen that before and the factory bb mounts have 2 studs to the small block and all the conversion mounts one.
Going to have to go with a limiter strap or a full blown aftermarket setup like autofab's that has its own frame towers.
