Ill have to call soon, I just got mytruck back from not having it for a monthand a half, and in stock tune.....its quite worthless. I know it gets better fuel milage then my old 460 truck, but man, that 460 would outpull this psd any day. We really gotta fix this issue, lol.
I would like to clarify/elaborate a little on my previous post. I probably don't try as hard as some to achieve the results of tire spinning. I have a fairly aggressive tread on my tires, Maxxis Buckshot Mudders, so that might also hinder tire spinning, don't know that for sure though. I haven't ever tried holding the brakes and building boost, but there again, I don't seem to achieve some of the boost numbers others do. If I get in it for me, in the 80E tune, I can reach 20#s boost. Maybe I'm not in it as much as others. I feel the truck does run good w/o any problems, but I will say that I run in 80E except when towing. There is a difference between stock and 80E. The trans shifts better and the throttle is more responsive (my experience), but not to the point that the truck wants to get out from under me. I also notice that stock vs. any tune, there is more noise from the engine bay. I don't know why exactly, seems that this topic was discussed not to long ago in a different thread and developed into a heated debate about how can one say it's the injectors being louder when there is so much between you and them. Whatever it is, it is a little more noisy. I do not have any regrets with purchasing and running the dp tuner what so ever. When I purchased the truck it had an Edge programmer and there truly is no comparison, hands down, dp would be the choice here. I know there are other options out there and I am sure that there are a handful that would meet or exceed your wants. I don't have any experience with the others, but I wouldn't be afraid to give some of them a try if I were made of $$$. Do your research and you will decide on the one you want. Might also consider if one of these companies is close to your location. I also remember Rich (white buffalo) did have Tony Wildman tunes since he was close to him. You might get his input as well as a couple others on here. Sorry for the long post.
Hey Dave, not sure but having bigger tires, mud terrains at that it might be a little harder thats for sure, no experiance there but I have 285-75-16's Yoko Geolanders AT-S's and in 80E powerbraking then stomping on it off the line I spun them good, had to let off of it so I could get down the track, I just sat there spinning. Here's a pic Maybe call Jody and Diane and see what they say, maybe they can bump you up a bit considering the tires, give them a call..
Sounds like either something isn't quite right or you're just not trying hard enough. I can light up my 37's in 80E with a little spooling up. With the 305's on it now, for the winter, I can just stomp on it and go and they spin on clean dry pavement. Just my .02
