I bought a used 2006 Escape a few months ago. It came with a factory remote start. The manual for the remote start says it shuts off after 10 minutes. 10 minutes ! What good is that when its 20 degrees out. The manual says you have the option to change that to 15 minutes but doesn't tell you how. Its a 2 button unit, with 2 seperate remotes from the normal lock unlock remote. The manual says "vehicle security and remote start systems" on the cover. Inside it says "PowerCode Securilock interface sold seperate". I don't know if it has that or not.
Anybody know how to change that to the 15 minutes the manual say it can do ?
Anybody know how to make it longer then that ? Maybe 25 to 30 minutes ?
Can you disable it from beeping the horn when you use the remote start ? I am sure my neighbors love my horn at 4:00 in the morning.
Its not long enough for me. Its like just to the point that the temp gauge is starting to come up, no heat yet. I would like it to be warmed up to the point that heat is blowing out the vents and its warm inside, with the windsheild defrosted.
I have just been checking on it in 10 minutes and when its not running I hit the button again and re-start it.
I have an aftermarket remote start in my excursion and it is a far better unit this is factory one. The one in my excursion lets it run for 30 minutes. Also the one in my excursion has better range with the remote.
I guess the one in my escape is better then nothing.
