Well I have the 85 Flairside bed adapted onto my 77 F150 Shortbox frame. Check it out at http://www.alaska.net/~akimp/flairside2.jpg . Tell me what you think of the way the lines of the truck look. I think it turned out pretty good. And the swap wasnt as bad as I thought at first.

Thanks for your comment, I am getting the bed ready to paint this week, shouldnt be long and the whole thing will be ready for the paint. Was surprized that I only had to redrill the four bolt hole in the frame at the cab end of the bed. The others lined right up.

Love the color scheme. Sorta reminds me of my Escort. Nice job on the box, I just put a rough sawn pine box on my ' 77 f250 camper. I'd like to see some pics when you get it finished but no hurry. Keep up the good work.

Looks great and i think you just solved one of my problems ...gonna go lookin for a newer style stepside to "borrow" the box from THANKS for the pic it helped make up my mind

Anytime, the two bed bolts closest to the cab on my bed are cosmetic in the bed. But the front supports below the bed to the frame already had two holes drilled and I just put shorter bed bolts from under there through the brace to the frame. At least until I replace my wood and then I can redo the pattern and go with the stainless steel bolt kit. The other thing I had to do was put a gas fill door on the back of my drivers fender from a donor fender. Now I have the double doors for the dual tanks...Paint will be coming soon as I remove the chrome from the cab. Medium Platinum Metallic interior and the old Plum Crazy exterior... or the new Chryls.r Mother of Pearl Amythyst, you guys have used up all the other colors...LOL...

Looks like my '77 before it was painted!
I get compliments on how good it looks everywhere I go!
Hardly anyone will guess the bed is from a later model. Most think it is a custom bed!
I saw another in Auburn Indiana. Bought broke my neck looking around at it as I thought it looked too much like mine until I saw his wheels were dif!
I think it's the best Ford Truck ever! '77 era cabs look best and that bed really compliments it!
