a/c problem
here is something else weird on my truck.
1979,F150 351w auto.the a/c works fine, but when you put on the brakes to stop, and the a/c is blowing it switches from the vents in the dash to the defrost( not the heat) but just starts blowing out the defrost, and when you step on the gas it switches back to the vent.

a/c problem
I think that you have a vacuum problem. There is either not enough at the switch or you have a bad hose near the switch, and that is causing the problem. If you have good hearing still you should be able to hear the leak.

a/c problem
Ford makes a vacuum switch [not sure what the real name is] that is one way. This prevents the loss of vacuum. It is simply a splice in affair.
It prevents loss of vacuum to the dash controls.
