Cat gutting

Did a search and didn't find anything.

I was wondering what is the best way of gutting a catilytic convertor. I can remove it but since I am in the military and will be transferring back to California a some point, I would like to retain the convertor.

Take a pipe or bar and a hammer and bust out the honey comb bisquit. Then insert a pipe that just barely fits in diameter all the way through it and weld it in place. Now it looks like it is still functional.

alot of guys dont even weld the pipe inside. you dont have to but it does help performance a little bit

It also cuts down on exhaust resonance from the exhaust bouncing around inside the large hollow chamber.

Yea, just beat the crap out of it with a prybar. Highly recommend wearing a mask or something, that dust was pretty bad, I didn't feel so hot for a few days afterward.

I used a t bar fence post that was driven in to the ground and slammed the cat on the bar breaking up the honeycomb. Then put it back on. 2 months later i took it off permanently cause of the weird tone it made.
