I've completed the 7mm - 8mm conversion on my wires, cap, and rotor. Now I need a coil, but which coil is the right coil. I am thinking of using a previously suggested pertronix ignitor.
Oh......it's all on a 1974 F-100 Explorer 390 cid c-6
I have had good luck with my Accel Super Coil. My father in law also runs one on his 73 F100 with a 390 in it and a Mallory electronic ignition and has had good luck with it also.
Bozo74, I converted my truck to the big cap and larger wires and added the Pertronix Ignitor at the same time. I am using a Mallory ProMaster coil and autolite platnium plugs gapped at 40. The "Old Bug" runs like a top. I believe the biggest improvement for the money was the Pertronix Ignitor. That one change made a huge and immediate difference, in startup and idle.
