Plugged PCV line
and found it almost completely plugged with crud. There was a passage less than 1/4 in. diameter. Cleaning this out has been a challenge. I've let it set overnight filled with carb cleaner twice. Used a whole can of carb cleaner. Numerous solvent baths, blown out with air, and it is better but not clear. What is left is a tar like substance, and I sure dont want to hook it back up and have some of that stuff dislodge into the PCV or worse, intake. Tomorrow I'll try to fill the tube with liquid Draino and let that stand overnight. If that doesnt work then will try a propane torch and cook it to powder.
A rubber hose from back to front is an option, but the original setup is better to my liking. It wouldnt be surprising to find buried in the original service schedule reference to this line being cleaned every 25,000 miles or so.
The engine is 64 292. Maybe FEs have a similar setup. You might want to pull your line and take a look.
The PCV systems filter is clogged up.

Inside the adapter is this: B2TZ6A631A .. Crankcase Ventilation Filter Assy.
Use with the PCV Adapter or the Road Draft Tube. The same filter was used for both applications on all Y Blocks with a tube or the PCV adapter, also used on 215/223/262 I-6's.
The filter is prolly clogged up solid. When was the last time it was changed?
Prolly the last time the truck was serviced at a Ford Dealer and that was prolly years ago, cuz today, most people haven't a clue there's this filter there.

With a number starting B2 it should have been a red flag. Guess there is a good reason why I havent seen a filter in any of 6 or 7 valleys.
