Piston Direction
I'd never heard of this. It is possible? If so, then would it work in a 5.0.
I don't think it would hurt balance, but I'm sure there is a reason for the arrows/markings for the front.
Anyone ever heard of this or done it?
Lots of "old school" information has been proven false since the internet has come along. (gotta have some back pressure, to help it run)
There is so much information now available that it is mind boggling! Not to mention the higher quality, lower cost replacement parts that are available.
It used to be that a three angle valve job and getting your stock heads cut for a 2.02 valve was the cats *** for a street Ford. But, so many folks would say that a 302 can't possibly need that much valve! Or that you can't build a 302 big enough to need a 750 Holley. Way too much carb for that little engine!
Want to go fast? Aluminum heads, or even cast heads from World are cheaper to buy out of the box, than trying to get your stock heads rebuilt. (Unless you get a family or similar discount).
Look at camshafts these days. You can get a custom cam ground for around four hundred bucks.
Sorry, don't mean to rant, I just came across this while looking for some IAC info, and wanted to share...
