i was looking to do a scan guage for awhile. i think i'm just going to get AE instead though since its more portable. the scan guage does have some nice options on it though that i like. i got EGT, 0-60 boost, HPOP, and will probably add in a fuel pressure guage on the pillar. then throw in the oil temp, water temp, and oil pressure on top of the dash or something. haha.

On a mostly stock truck i think i would put fuel pressure in there just b/c of that mechanical fuel pump, but oil temp is a good guage to have in these truck b/c as we all know if the oil gets too hot its no wueno for these things. everytime i have checked mine with a snap on scanner at running temp though its always around 200-205* though which is good.

haha well my truck wont quite have as many mods as yours so i dont think i need 7 guages but it wouldnt hurt, mabye the only thing performance wise outside a chip and a 4" exhuast and 6637 might by the 149 idm mod one of these days. but yea the fuel pressure and oil temp and pressure seem to be the most popular 4th choices.
ok talking about these guages what should they read, like boost, tranny temp, egt and fuel pressure? thanks blake

boost you will see in the 20's most likely, fuel pressure between 60-70psi, egt around 500-600* running down the highway empty. don't let go over 1200* for more than 5-10 seconds. tranny temp should be what around 180*??? not sure on that one. LOL.

One day yours will be like mine is now. you just don't know it yet!! when your injectors start going out you will think to yourself, maybe i should call Jim and just get some stage 1's to throw in here. then later down the road you will be wondering what kind of difference stage 2's would make then before you know it you will have stage 2's. LOL

Careful of what you wish for! It will happen when you don't want it to and you'll be on the side of the road.

FWIW, I personally prefer the oil temp gauge myself since it is a more accurate measure of when the engine is warmed up and ready for some fun

That is something I had thought about Clay. Gauge mounting was the contributing factor in the choice of coolant temperature only on the first go round. I haven't made up my mind yet. I'll be talking to you pretty soon.

Personally I like to wait till at least 160*F-170*F, prefer 180*F. Not like you are going to blow it up if you don't wait though.
