If you want the dirt on mopar's..............Just look how few are left on the road of older models compared to Ford and GM.......Time is a merciless test fixture, Dodge fails it.
Not worried about getting a new truck... I'm more worried about only getting 10mpg on the Highway! I got all the power I'll ever need with my granny low...
I have both i have a 93 dakota with a 3.9 v6 with a 5 spd manual and i just got a 82 f150 with a 302 4 spd manual. My dakota has gone through a lot and still keeps going. I had the bed full of hedge wood and a very heavy hay rack that was filled with hedge wood and i pulled it up a hill with only 2wd. im not saying that it flew up the hill but it pulled as good as my kubota diesel tractor. for those who dont know what hedge is, its extreamly heavy and hard wood. its heavyer and harder than oak and when you gut it with a chain saw it will actually throw sparks. My f150 has the engine pulled right now and thats getting a whole new rebuild. I have heard good things about ford engines and dodge engines. our old farm truck was a 1986 dodge 250 and that thing was a beast. it drank through gas but had good power. My grandfather bought it new just for plowing snow and we sold it with only 24,000 original miles. He had to re wire it one because dodges do have problems with wires but other than that we have not had any problems with our trucks (besides the neighboor mudding with the 250 and he got stuck so he held down the gas and shifted between drive and reverse. yeah that desroyed the trans) But other than that I have become more attracted to fords. I still like the cummins diesels best though.
The old farm truck.
This is the old 86 dodge 250 was a great truck and would haul as much as you could through at it.
The 93 dakota This is a pic from when i first got it. its a lot more beat up now but runs great still as has good power for a v6.
And then this is my newest truck that im rebuilding. A 1982 f150. I got the motor pulled and ready to rebuild. I got my custom front bumper build and next is a flat bed for it and i want to through a 460 in it. Go big or go home!
I was just talking performance. I will never buy anything made by Government Motors. Oh, and by the way nathandennis1, I can pull all three of those pickups with them loaded to capacity and not even bog down! The wonders of having enough torque for 10 trucks!!!!!
Im not saying that there the best trucks ever or they have all the power in the world, im just saying that they have heald up good and have plent of power that i need. If i could aford it, I would have a cummins right now. But no money

I will agree with you on that note. However, Dodge has never built near the volume of trucks that Ford and Chavy has. Just by the numbers, we're bound to see more old Fords on the road.
I must admit, at anytime in the past 15 years, I'd own a full size Dodge before ever getting onto a Chevy.
I find it humorous that some reviewerss find merit only in 0-60 and up hill pull times. Oh my, when the 6.2 is FINALLY put into the F150 what are all of these yuppy reviewers going to have to do... gasp! Say it isnt so! Are they actually going to have to rate the trucks on overall abilities??? Imagine that... Yes, Dodge and Toyota... you can commence the kicking and screaming now. It will only get worse.
Go Ford. Spank them.
