No , have not checked fuel pressure. no cel. its as if the ebpv is actvated, but its not. once the truck is completely warmed up it will drive and shift fine up to 30mph, then bam, feels like a damper closed. will not go over 30, will just spew black smoke if I hold the pedal down.

yes MADVAN, feels like tc lock. but this would only happen when the temp wasn't up, now, I could drive my truck for miles everything feels fine until 30mph, then it fells like I downshifted into 1st gear, its an automatic, even if I kept the pedal down, it would just spew black smoke. before this would happen, I could come to a complete stop, then take off again and everything would be fine once the temps were up, now no matter what the temp is, she wont kick in after 30. I'm trying, no mech, just a plumber.

ok 2 things, "spews black smoke" and "bone stock" dont go together.

my money is on a clogged cat or a faulty map or baro sensor. there are only a few things that can cause spews of black smoke along with no power on a stock tuning truck. without a scan tool it is a little more difficult to diag but a simple test is unplug your map sensor and drive it. you will get a cel but test drive to look for a change in performance.

map sensor i slocated in the top left of this picture right on top of the heater housing, 3 wire connector with a rubber hose that goes right to your intake.

Man, just a giveup. Prolly something simple as a sensor too.

Ebpv even if unpluged can close.
Sensors coon suggested are all good starts.

Pull the downpipe off to see if the EBPV is indeed closed or open, even if unplugged it can close and might need to be wired open.

Check the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) on top of the rear diff. Pull it out and if it's dirty wipe it off with a clean rag and reinstall. Or put in a new one. Also check the wires going to it for damage.

Transmission Range Sensor on the driver side of the tranny. Could go bad and the truck won't know what gear it's in.

is there any possible way you can get a video for us when it starts to do it? our flatbed duraturd does that same thing but its a fuel rail issue and you can keep it to the boards and it wont go above 2grand or 30mph and the engine seems loaded up, is your engine loaded up when it happenes? im sure if we can hear what its doing, it will make this Diag process much quicker

Yea. I am usually pretty good about my commas, and my words.
Sometimes I misspell things. But, if you read it. It is correct. =)

Did you check the FPR screen if its plugged up enough itll bog the power down and cause smoke, That and plugged up CAT will cause lots of smoke with no power. Also Good idea wiring the EBPV open to ensure it.
