Tailgate interchange through what years???
So I have a 1979 Bronco and need a new tailgate in a bad way, Ive heard that more then just the 78/79 will fit my bronco, is this true??? and if so is there anything I need to know about swaping them and what years fit.... thanks everyone, just bought the bronco so any other advise let me know

I am unaware of any tailgate other than a 78-79 fitting properly. 78-79 were the only two years that the Bronco retained that particular body styling. The physical dimensions of the gate would have shrunk in 1980 and stayed that way through 1996 just like the rest of the Bronco body.
Perhaps someone here is aware of a way to make a later model tailgate fit. However I still doubt it will fit to match the body lines of your 79.
