im building a performance engine, should i go with the elec waterpump?or mechanical
also on the top of the block towards the back in the vallley were the lifters are there is a part that looks like a v or y, with 2 threaded holes in it the block im building doesnt have any screws in it but the other does and it looks like there adjusted to a certain point.
1.what does this do and what is it called
2.are the screw set to anything?
I just installed an Edelbrock victor series alum. waterpump. I did away with the fan/clutch, and put in two 14" procomp electric fan's wired with seperate relays. I mounted the fans on a thin alum home made shroud, she runs with a power increase feel for sure.
Those are pipe plugs for the oil passages. Just transfer them over to the new block. Or get new ones and install. I'd have to look but I think they are standard 1/4" pipe plugs. I put a dab of blue locktite on them when I install them.
Just so you know what that actually is. those holes are where Ford drilled the oil passage that carries the oil from the drivers side of the block to the passengers side lifters. the pipe plugs are to close off the end so it's a sealed passage. It's an oil gallary for getting the oil from one side of the block to the other.
