you could call an area fuel distributor and ask if they seasonally adjust their #2 fuel. i would expect that that far north they do, if so no need to go to #1. up here in the great white north we only have 1 type of fuel year round, seasonally adjusted for temps possible plus minus so many days from delivery.
usually around 20* I start adding antigel to #2 just in case. Starts dipping down below zero I start putting some #1 in with #2 and the antigel. I don't like to be too careful. Haven't gellup up, and seem -30+ without problems. Heard some dmaxs gelling up on #1 during last years cold snap.
