Yes these trucks are fairly rare. Crew cabs before 73 where for the most part only available to the government and other commercial buyers. I do not think the everyday consumer could buy one. There were probably exceptions though. A lot of these crew cab were worked hard and didn't survive. From what I can see in the picture it seems to be a decent shape.

Price depends on area of the country as it seems there are more are available in the pacific north west than anywhere else.

I bought a 1970 f250 crew in Colorado last July for $500. Owner just wanted it gone. Towed it home and rebuilt the carb, changed the fuel pump and now it is driveable.

Consider that the truck is almost 40 years old and they maybe only produced about 2000 of them. Probably less than half of that are still around. Hood and fenders are easily replaced. All long beds were 2wd when produced as far as I know.

crewcabs are rare 67-72, they didnt of course make the 4x4 longbed till 80. I paid a couple years ago $2500 for my 72' F350. In the process of converting mine to 4x4 (460 EFI motor, C6, NP205) If you get it, post some pics etc...etc...

If it is a F350 then its almost identical frame to the 4x4, if not a F350 then more problems (F100-F250 frame horns are different and other differences)... My frame was pre drilled for the front 4x4 crossmember on the bottom so will be bolt in (my frame horns are bent so will be taking to a frame shop)... I got a donor 68 F250 4x4 frame and using all the pieces off that... probably the biggest issue is the 2wd engine crossmember, if you get a high enough lift you could keep it in so it doesnt hit the differential. Im cutting mine out and putting the 68 4x4 engine crossmember in also. Then steering (gear box), as the 2wd is by the firewall and 4x4 out by the radiator core support... Im putting a 460 EFI motor out of a 95 F350 so have to change motor mounts anyway and doing a C6 with a married NP205 so might have some issues with the NP205 but not sure yet. I also putting a sterling 10.25 in the rear with the VSS sensor for the EFI motor so using a electronic speedo vrs the mechanical (just cleaner and easier and hopefully can use the cruise control also)

in 2003 i paid $7500 for a 70 crew f350 long bed 2wd, it had a 77 460 in it and it had bucket seats, and high trim level, some rust but was not bad. it has been very good to me.

Looks to me like an F350 as long beds were F350 while short beds were F250.
