So after some long reading on FTE , I took some of the advice others had been getting . I unplugged the ICP, i had let my truck sit almost 9 hrs in 20-30 degree temps overnight without the block heater on.. So this morning i go out and unplug the ICP it before i try to start . I turn the key wait for the glowplugs to warm and within 3 seconds after i turn the key poof my truck fired right up like it been on the block heater all night . SO with that I guess my ICP sensor is toast ..I have new glow plugs new relay. by the way and it looks like it wasn't the problem . SO if I read the forum correctly if it starts with the ICP unplugged the sensor is bad and has to be replaced right?
ITS FREAKING COLD! Look at -7 below tonight. Maybe a lil colder. Either way. My truck hates it lol. I plugged in my truck at work to see if my heater would work with a crappy plug on the end of it. And it didnt. So it will be a real bear tomorrow to fire over...I almost wanna cry when I hear it romp a dozen times and crank it 4 times. Just sad. It needs work the PO didnt do to it.
well truck sat alll day in 30f range of temp wasnt started since this morning about 8 am went out a few ago and poof fired right up hummm im thinking maybe had bad connection on the EOT but now it seem to fire over being cold with no heater plugged in . Im going to leave it alone tonight and see in the moring if it starts without being plugged in supposed to get down in the 20's tonight and snow here .Hope it works got to take it in for 2 recalls that needs to be done .....but I do believe im now on the right track to finaly fixing my cold start problem... just came in from being outside its getting cold had to make sure the atv will start for plowing ..its almost time for a new atv been using my 93 Polaris 350L to do plowing ..it does the job at least.. well will let you all know tomorrow morning how the start went .
Is one of your recalls the cam sensor? If so, this could cause starting issues. It may not necessarily be causing only cold starting issues. Just an idea.
