Is it worth getting the Hurst Indy shifter or just stick to the Mr. "Casket" crap? INDY PICKUP TRUCK 3-SPEED SHIFTER
Cuz i like what im seeing here and the current Mr. Gasket setup is a pain and feels chintzy as hell yo and i popped the shifter out place by moving too hard and because shifting feels like its weak and slacking.
I had the Mr. gasket shifter and wasnt real impressed with it and even hung up at times, if put the Hurst indy in my 67' and havent had a problem since.
I heard the Hurst Mastershift is a great shifter, but is a little pricey though! I've also heard the Hurst Indy shifter is good but I heard that over time it can hang-up in between gears.
The Indy 3spd shifter is junk. The Indy 4spd is a nice shifter, just comparable to the Hurst Comp unit, just cheaper. I've run it in plenty of vehicles without fail.
Mr. Gasket makes a great inline shifter(V gate). They all look the same(even Long version) and my Mr. gasket is flawless in race car.
I've read quite a few of these threads and here's a quote for you...
"Mr Gasket should just stick with making gaskets!"
Anyway all I wanted to mention is a T18 or NP435 can be had for
about the same price as a -good- floor shifter for the 3 speed.
Your decision.

really? a new process 435 or a tremec 18 for the same price as a shifter? interesting, but can I reuse the same drive shaft and Trans mounts? or what else do I have to keep in mind?
