It wasn't just a fancy name. The entire drivetrain and suspension is different and was designed by SVT. It actually handled very well for a full size truck. So, its quite a bit more than you think. Actually the price tag was around 22k, but many sold for less than that. So, its not that much more than a regular F150 in 93-95. A friend of mine bought a 95 Lightning new and got it for 19k.

Wow , mabee some of you don't reamember the gen 1 lightning ??? They are very rare now , not just a decal . They were built by the ford SVT department . 351 w with the gt 40 intake & heads , nice suspension . They ran good for a truck , if ford put a better cam in them with MA they would have ran alot better, to find one in nice shap today is a good find IMO.....Lew

Let's not forget the heavier duty frame, different interior and 4.10 gear.

I've never seen him say anything positive. I suspect he's bitter because he has a small dick.

He's alright though. Still part of the FTE family.

Dont forget guys. The lightning was originally designed as a prerunner truck in 92. It was a class winner in the SCORE series. then Ford decided to make them into a production truck. I do agree w texas as far as using a f150 instead of a lightning but i "molested" my lightning but i like to be different

I would have to agree with this statement for anyone that mods a Lightning that way.

-takes a deep bow- I'll be here all week, assuming I don't get the ban hammer. It's all in fun though I have no beef with the guy. He's always given good information.
