A/C doesn't work(sometimes)

I have a 2005, 6.0 PSD, crew cab, Lariat, so it comes with the climate control A/C, not the reuglar one with the *****, this one you set the temp fan speed etc. and i can control it from buttons on the right-hand side of my steering wheel. About 3 months ago(back in August) i had those replaced bacause radio vol. contolled temp, temp controlled fan speed etc. and at the time i thought it had something to do with this ongoing problem that im having. The big problem is: the a/c doesn't work at all, nothing shows up on the digital screen, almost as if there's no power getting to it, luckily, it only does this rarely, last time it did it was around a month ago, and since i live in florida its hard to go without a/c, but luckily it's cold this week, Tomorrow it will work again, i know, When my A/C does go into this complete shut-down restarting the truck doesn't work, it just takes time at least an hour or more.... so any suggestions? I dont think flashing it will do anything, my truck got new batteries two months ago............

I'd be checking connectors and fuses for a bag connection

With your engine running try turning your headlights on and off a couple of times. This has been known as a temporary fix. Buddy of mine has been doing that for a year now.

I've had the same problem a couple of times.

I believe the culprit is called the EATC (Electronic Automatic Temperature Control) module.

I'm afraid I can't help you there....maybe someone knows of a thread that has that write-up. If there is one, I haven't found it.

the eatc is easy just pop the insterment bezel off and there are 4 7mm screws that hold it on. remove them and disconnect all the plugs on the back.

This happened to me once and this seemed to cure it for now at least. It has only happened once in the last 4 months so not sure it is really worth addressing any further at this point.

Happened to my '05 King Ranch today. I didn't know about the headlight reboot procedure but disconnecting the batteries for 5 minutes restarted the system.
