I know some of you guys have converted your vacuum power brakes to hydro boost brakes, how did you do it and where did you get the parts? Is there an after market kit that includes the power steering unit and brake booster for our trucks?
I used the master cylinder that was stock on my 86.
Everything was a direct bolt on swap.
If you want to go this route you can, which may save a few dollars.
You can get the power steering resorvoir and install it on your pump.
You need two return lines on the power steering pump, one for the steering gear and one for the hydra boost.
That is the only reason for the pump change.
Mine was way up in miles, so I though since my brakes will be depending on it, time for a new one.
Here are the part numbers for the hydra boost and hoses.
