So i have essentially a straight run of pipe out the rear end. It has a large muffler on it and is really heavy at the end. I have tried three ways from sunday to get this secured in the back with two different kinds of mounting kits. I am sick of this crap and need it gone. I dont want it to be ridiculous loud but if it means i can have it slash cut out the passenger side in front of the tire i will accept a little noise. Can i use a modified thrush style muffler or something smaller? The one on weighs too damn much and is like a gas tank size. hahaha. I have pondered stacks but i transport hay for the ponies too often and the wife would never let me live that one down! haha. Thoughts on a reroute? Can i do it without a welder? You can just barely make it out above left of my diff in this pic and you can see the long *** pipe out the back. Today i backed into a fence post(windows were too frosty and i thought i knew where i was! hahaha. Well it stick out past the bumper for some odd reason and it popped the last hanger i installed. So i am done with it!!!!!!
if you run a straihgt pipe all the way out the back it wont be loud in the cab, but if you live somewere were you can get a ticket for a loud truck then dont do this, but you will love the sound of a super 44 flowmaster, or at least i do, here watch this video at the end i rev it up for an exhuast sound its not a long video
The turbo chopps up the exhaust and they are very livable without a muffler.
Straight pipes without a turbo are LOUD especially when towing a load.
Well it is not necessarily straight pipes that i want, i would like to have the setup i currently have and chop it down with a smaller muffler or glasspack. Then i want to angle it at about 22.5-45 coming out prior to the passenger rear tire. I know one day i would like a turbo but for the price i have no justification.
1.5 flats, it just smokes a slight haze after 3500, and after 4000 smoke is gone, but at low rpm i rolls the black, i run out of fuel at high rpm cause the pump timing curve cannot keep up
Well I have run the stock exhaust, dual straights dual with mufflers all na.
As far as hp increase I can't give you any numbers but the but dyno feels like a good torque gain especially low end. I have had more low end torque with a na than my regular driver with turbo.
