I've been very happy with my yellow top over the years. It's outlasted the batteries in two of my other rigs so far and I wouldn't hesitate to put in any of them still to this day. It's bulletproof to me. The benefit is they discharge more cranking amps faster then standard batteries because how they are built. Also being deep cycle they have a longer draw down period meaning I can run my stereo 2x longer with the car off then a regular battery. They also take a charge faster then a regular battery. All around worth every penny imo. Warranty is 36mo replacement on the website.
Minimum 850CCA for the diesels and make sure they'll fit under the hood before buying.
After a **** load of research, I went with the.......
BLUE TOP OPTIMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These f**ckers are $200 a piece on Optima's site and at Costco they were ................only $144 a piece!!!! So I JUMPED on that sh**!!!!!
But here's my concern gentlemen, the CA's are only 750. Is this bad? I thought you have to have at least 850. I live the in California Bay Area. It rarely gets below 40 here. Although when I drive up to the mountains I gets colder than that.
I do not have my winch or off road lights yet, although I have started to pump up my audio system
I haven't had good luck with intserstates, have had 3 fail on me that were under 3 years old.
I had a pair of white carquest batteries in my old suburban. They were rated for 1100 CA. My suburban had a major fuel issue and often took 5-10 minutes of off/on cranking to get it started. Even in the cold, they never even showed signs of losing power. But then when it was about -20 I ran them totally dead, they got noticeably weaker but still did the job. Then over the summer they were pretty much worthless. They were about 4 years old. Not bad considering how hard it started. I started it twice every day last winter, didn't always take this long, I could usually be running in about 2-3 minutes YouTube - Cold Start Suburban 16F
Long story short, the batts in my F250 are weak, and they were DEAD this morning. I'm going to look into a set or carquests.
