Trying to identify transfer case....

1978 Bronco, c6 tranny short shaft, 400 motor, has 2 Lo and lock (not 4 lo), need parts for it and other Broncos don't match up with this one...any suggestions as to what other cases could have been put on it? Casting numbers on it are hard to read, cause it's pretty beat up, but looks like CA-1187...any help would be greatly appreciated

I have no idea but that certainly means very little compared to the knowledge base among the folks here. The 78's came with t-cases made by New Process from Ford. The OEM units were all 2-speed with high being passive (or nearly passive) and low being a reduction to the best of my knowledge. The NP 205 is a gear-to-gear part-time unit and the NP 203 is a chain-driven unit that was employed as a full-time 4WD t-case by virtue of its internal differential gearing.

Got a picture of it? Below are two pics that are of the exploded parts view but the cases themselves are shown. Which one looks closest to yours? Like Grey said there were two from the factory offered unless someone put a different one in to your truck.
