I recently had the c6 rebuilt in my 68 ranger (390). A few weeks ago, after sitting for several hours it wouldn't go into gear, no reverse, no drive, nothing. After several minutes of running in neutral it went into gear and was fine all the way home. several days later I drove it again with the same symptoms but I noticed that if it is in drive it won't move until the rpms come up quite a bit (1500 or more ) it will barely move, then as the revs come up it will take gear suddenly and lunge forward. After it has been through one complete shift cycle everything is fine and it'll drive fine the rest of the day.
Any ideas as to where to start? The man that rebuilt this has been doing it quite a while with a great reputation but is unfortunately unavailable for a while.
Thanks
Greg
Fluid level is dead on level. The convertert is still under warranty, it only has about 1000 miles on it. I guess I can pull it out and change it. I really hate to pull this heavy thing back out though.
Thanks
Greg
You drove from Canada to Vegas? Now that's a road trip.
Thanks for the reply. I'd like to add that for the first month after the rebuild all was well with no problems at all. This all started a couple of weeks ago. I plan to pull the pan this week, anything in particular I need to be looking for?
I avoid auto transmissions at all costs since they operate on magic and voodoo. LOL
Thanks for the help.
