Man these forums load slow!

A few months ago I got tired of these truck forums taking forever to load. I thought it was my computer. Well with a new computer, work computer and friends computer there is no difference. All I see are the darn http://ad.yieldmanager....... ads loading up. These forums use to be great but I can hardly stand the wait. Since my paid membership lapsed is there such an animal that the forums speed can be controlled based upon if you paid to be a member or not? It sucks that I've had to look elsewhere for my answers. Does anyone else notice the slowness?

Thanks!

Mine loads fine. Get firefox then download the AD BLOCKER add-on. I see know ads whenever I'm online.

I block the flash-based, problem-causing ads. The rest, I leave alone.

That's about the best compromise I can make. I understand the needs of a web site to support itself, since I support a website of my own. I also understand the needs of a user to not have his computer completely shut down from improperly written flash-based crap.

I am a member of HDForums. I think the same internet company runs both sites. Internet Brands I believe is what it is. HDFourums runs so slow and kicks me off so much I hate to go there any more. HDF has a lot more traffic and ads than this forum. I know what you are saying.

This is a message I received from a super moderator, when I posted about the use of the Firefox addon, when this subject was brought up before;

"I edited this post, to remove the adblock mention. Those ads help pay for all those who WONT support FTE. We cant be telling regular users how to skinny the system. Hope you understand. I am sure the admins wouldn't have liked to see it. Thanks"

If everyone who visited these forums became a supporter, could this place exist without the advertisers. Cause they would certainly go away. Then you would have a requirement for everyone to be a supporter. I wonder how many members would hang around with that requirement? I suspect many would leave, thereby restoring the ads. Gotta go...I think my head might explode.

I know it does take a bit long to log on if you are a nonsupporter. And that is because of the adware. But that is in no way punitive.
