I doubt you will be able to remove them with out damaging them. Essentially the flat metal washer on top has a metal tube attached to it that runs down through the center of the rubber bushing. The washer with the nut of the botton has a similiar setup. You need to seperate these. You could try a punch down inside, but your sure to damage them some how. I cut the center of the top to free the tube from the flat washer part and then just pushed it through the bushing. I bought my replacements from bronco graveyard. They actually came through LMC though and were on back order.
Get a long 7/16" coarse thread bolt. Screw it in from the top and hit it with a hammer.
This will drive out the lower mount out and separate the mount without damage.
Thats how I removed mine. It worked like a charm.
Is it possible to separate them? Short answer is yes. But it will be extremely time consuming and labor intensive. I tried the bolt trick, and it didn't work for me. I tried soaking them over night in break free. It didn't help. You can either use a saw all or a fire wrench (Very carefully). Either one will speed the job up considerably. Then replace them with either factory (your local Ford parts counter) or aftermarket replacements (NPD, LMC, etc). Both are still available. One other piece of advise that I learned the hard way. Unless you are building something for competition, stay with the factory style rubber bushings. The aftermarket plastic ones squeak even when you remember to use the silicone lube, and provide a very stiff ride.
I agree on the type of mount. I've ridden in trucks that had the poly mounts and wasn't impressed at all. They may be fine for competition but if you're building a street truck go with the factory style mounts. You won't regret it.
