Smile Shift lever

I am rebuilding my '52 F1. I have rebuilt the steering column and shift linkage but the lever has no ball or anything else on the end for one to grab onto. Just a very small tapered type thingy on the end. Is taht all there is?
Oh, it is a three speed on the column.

Well, I have a drawing. Let me post this and if it doesn't show what you are talking about I'll look in the books for another one:

Does that work for you?

It's a pretty simple device. When you lift up on the handle you are actually pulling the whole shift tube up and raming the pins in the lowe tube up in to the detents on the shift forks down by the steering box. There's a pin that holds the handle in place in and that's about it.

By the way if you are missing part numbers 4276 or 7208 (and I think 7221) LMC carries them.
