as for cost i paid $85.00 for a fuel filter for my '90 idi when it clogged on me in Wickenberg AZ that was about 6 years ago!

 

Uh, OK...

Did you pull the standpipe? There is a valve in the standpipe that won't let the high pressure fuel pump draw fuel from the filter housing.

 

It was the filter, it runs super good now, and the filter was horrible.

 

I buy Motorcraft filters from Ford. They are $24. When I first got my PSD I though that was steep, until I stopped at Napa and discovered they wanted twice that for theirs.
