Box store vs direct buy

Box store vs direct buy
Didn't know what to title this.
Was wondering if laptops sold at box stores like Best Buy, Amizon, Staples and such are the same quality as getting direct from HP, Dell Toshiba?
I know the John Deere tractors sold at JD stores are better quality the ones sold at Home Depot and Lowes. Was wondering if laptops are the same.
Any info welcome.

John Deere and others sell some different models at the specialty places. If you get the same model, it's the same tractor.
You CAN buy the same stuff at Best Buy etc as any place else. Just be careful that you are getting the exact match. The Big Box place may have some older stock, or some 'specials' that lack some feature.
But, generally they are the same.
A little off topic.
Pricing these days is just crazy. I called a motel the other day while I was looking at the AAA site. The AAA site showed a better price -- the clerk said yep, but you have to book online. Same thing happened to me with a tmobile cell phone. Cheaper at the tmobile web site than at the tmobile store -- and the guy in the store said that they weren't allowed to offer that price!

same experience with verizon, go to verizon store and buy phone and you pay extra for goodies like truck charger,etc but if you go to costco`s verizon kiosk then all the extras come free,really adds up
