Lower Coil Spring Retaining Nut Size?
Cross-posted from "Suspension" sub-forum in the hope of getting a quick response...

Like the title says...
Anyone know off hand what size the lower coil spring retaining nut is on a '92?
Pulled the parts out this afternoon to swap in my F350 coils (CC844's) and realized that bugger is bigger than any of the sockets I have!
Thanky!

I just did the same swap a few days ago and used a 29mm socket. It worked fine but I think the nut is actually SAE. Someone else posted that it was 1 1/8" but I can't say for sure.

Ran to Lowe's and picked up a 1 1/8" deep well socket.
But was actually able to break them loose and back them off just far enough using a 1 1/8" box end wrench.
New coils went in without a hitch.
It's the shocks that are whipping my ****.
The one's I bought (Monroe Gas Magnum 34926's) are too long.
After further review I realized they are for the forward of the axle position in the "quad-shock" set up; not the standard aft of the axle positon.
And to top it off, I can't get the stupid little 15mm nut off the top of the OE shocks.
They are rusted and corroded on there good, and there ain't enough room to get a deep well socket over the stud.
I may just cut a little notch in the plastic fender liner...

Sooooo...
I stuck a 1/1/2" holesaw on the 'ol cordless drill and cut two circular holes in the plastic fender liner directly above the shock stud.
After fighting with them a little longer, I grabbed the reciprocating saw and cut the top of the studs off.
But now I have nice access holes to tighten down the new shocks when they go in...
Heh.
