Installing coil spring, '95, F-150, 4wd

Looking for advice on coil spring install, and thus isn't my first time doing this, but, feel like something is a miss...

Each time I sit the coil spring in the lower retainer cup, tighten everything, when I lift the axle with the jack as if the tire was attached, the spring looks like it is bowing slightly to the front of the truck.
But if I push the lower coil further towards the shock, then it will sit nearly straight.

Does the lower retainer nut and washer need to make a full contact with the end of the spring coil?

I will post pictures promptly...
Snow is expected and I didn't finish, so I need advice or insight or pictures... I've done this several other times, but don't recall having a problem like this.

Thanks again folks!

Here are some pic's and it'll help explain.

In this picture, you can see where part of the lower coil is scooted/resting about a 1/2" from being under the retainer nut & washer.

This picture is where the coil is straight with the above orientation of the coil/retaining nut/washer.

If I do the opposite and push the 1/2" of the coil completely under the retaining nut & washer, then the coil bows towards the front of the truck.
Right now, with the above location/orientation of the retaining nut & washer, the driver side is identical.

Am I missing something or doing it wrong?

I don't see anything strange there. I put some leveling coils in mine about 6 months ago and just wheeled THE ***** out of it last weekend. Your spring will settle in where it should. Go put it through some flexing and recheck your bolts. Remember, that spring is always under load, your shocks are the limiting factor. Just about any coil-sprung vehicle can rip that spring out of there in the absence of shocks.

Well, I took out for some tests and so far it seems fine.

Will get it aligned as soon as I get all the inner and outer tie rods replaced this week.

Right now its sitting \ /

But so far, the truck runs smoother than my other trucks and now I'm thinking of new springs for the other truck!!
