Good evening Nevada. 0 degrees over here and not enough snow to have fun in.

My grandma takes weather readings for the national weather service and said that it was -10 this morning.

The ski areas should be happy, this gives them a good base for the holiday tourists.

You are right, the weather channel says sunny today, high of thirty two, cloudy tonight. Snow tomorrow. (?)

Good morning Nevada. I heard my grandmother call in the weather this morning. -20 degrees. I am about to start looking for a job south. We have the cold but not enough snow to have fun in.

Michelle, this hasn't been the norm for twenty five years or so. But as a kid growing up in this area it is very normal. I remember this stuff every winter even Hawthorne would get a foot of snow a few times a year with wicked cold temps. So what us native see this year anyway is a return to the good old days of winter in this area. Our truck thermos said -17 degrees this AM @ 5:30 am

That's what Larry says as well. Pump froze this morning too. I told him to put the heater in there a week ago, so now he has to do it in the snow. The thermometer here is just now up to 0, it was -11 when I got up. I don't see it getting to 25 today either. 32 would be toasty -- never thought I'd say that, where I grew up you break out the winter parka when it get's below 60 lol.

Time for me to start looking into a dual battery setup. Just went to start my truck and the motor barely caught. Then died after 5 seconds. Second time it stayed running.

I was in my Jeep most of the day running around & it never got out of single digits today. I talked with my neighbor today & he said the samething. I did notice Michelle that as I pasted your driveway this AM @ 7am the temp was a little higher than out here. In town it was a little warmer. But -17 or -11 below is still just dang cold. The weather channel I have on my computer comfirmed the single digit readings. I checked it every time I came home. My water froz at the water pressure regular The last 12" of heat tape wasn't working right. Tonight I have water dripping. I think it could be colder tonight than last night. I talked to several people who had frozen pump house so Larry isn't alone.

Good morning Steve. Hows everything in N.J.?
Does anyone know the official low for Fallon? The weather channel says -27 degrees, the Weather underground shows -10.5 degrees, & NOAA does report a temp this morning at the Navel Base. I show -4 degrees on my home outside thermo. The Blazer thermo shows -9 degrees so I guess the -10.5 degrees is close.
It is cold anyway you look at it. I did notice we shattered the RECORD LOW from 1972.
