I was in Iowa last week for a funeral. I stopped by my uncle who has a garage and wrecker service. He said those years of trucks are still on the road there and still in the salvage yards. I did not have any extra time to get out into a salvage yard to find a cable but it was good to know they are available.
I did have an LMC catalog when I got home and it appears to list the cable and at 40-60 seems high for a cable.
I am going to try this option. I picked up an after market manual choke cable at the parts store for like 4 dollars and I should be able to cut the ends, pull the cable, cut the old end and pull that cable, then feed in the new cable and bend new ends on the choke cable.
That is the idea right now.
Thanks for all the info here!

Thanks for the reply, thats another option , the end broke off my cable its twisted in a circular fashion like a spring and slides down onto a post the best i can see. Well we will see what happens. Possibly someone will have one for sale, reasonable.
If it helps any of you guys, I have an E0TZ-18552-A
AIR CONTROL CABLE
1980-1982
Heater or Integral AC
I bought it from Dennis Carpenter a while back for an outrageous amount (currently listed on the site for $60) and it ended up being the wrong one for my truck anyway (back when they had that awful parts look-up site). By the time I got around to installing it, it was to late to send it back. If it'll work for somebody, PM me.
I am trying to find a new or good used temp control cable for an "82" F-350 4x4 pickup. It has the heater control panel with the fan, off, heat, defrost, and on the right side is fuel tank selector switch. engine is a 400 cu. 2bbl.
E1TZ-18518-A .. Heater Temperature Control Cable / OBSOLETE
THANKS FOR THE INFO , I GOT YOUR VOICE MAIL, THE PHONE WENT DEAD WHEN I TRIED TO ANSWER IT , I GUESS I FORGOT TO PLUG IT INTO THE CHARGER LAST NITE.
I WILL CALL TOMORROW AND SEE WHAT I CAN FIND. I DO HAVE THE AIR CONTROL CABLE , AVAILABLE IF SOMEONE NEEDS ONE.
The easiest way I found to fix / repair the "no longer available" heater control cable was to simply snip the end off in the engine bay and pull out the old cable.
A quick trip to the local parts store and I purchased a "manual choke" cable. For a few cents more I picked up the longest one they had.
Got home, snipped both ends off and pushed the cable down the old cables case, reached inside and bent the best "Z" hook I could with some needle nose pliers, set the control full to one side (open or closed), then back to the engine bay, moved the flap control to match the inside settings (open or closed), and replaced the wraps like the old cable had.
